Episode 156: Spotlight on Paul Oakenfold

This week, we spend most of the episode highlighting the work of iconic superstar DJ/producer Paul Oakenfold. David plays 10 different tracks which show the breadth of Oakenfold’s work… you’ll hear many different styles represented, including trance, hip-hop, breaks, pop, and more.

This coming Saturday (September 22), Paul will be traveling to our home town to grace the decks and give us a night to remember. This is made possible by 3DMentional Entertainment (half of which is our own Tony DeSaro), and direct support is being provided by our very own Trip Turlington.

We start the episode out with a phone call from Tony, who is on the road working with Prime Social Group. Tony’s in charge of stage management and all kinds of stuff that happens behind-the-scenes at large scale festivals, but he was able to call in on his lunch break and give us an update.

Paul Oakenfold is a three-time Grammy Award and two-time World Music Awards nominee. He was voted the No. 1 DJ in the World twice (1998/1999) by DJ Magazine. He’s produced over 100 remixes for over 100 artists… including such names as U2, Moby, Madonna, Britney Spears, Massive Attack, The Cure, New Order, The Rolling Stones and The Stone Roses.
